Our dogs come from predominantly English import bloodlines. Some, also, have the influence of the best Swedish and Finnish kennels as well. Our breeding program emphasizes an athletic, strong, medium-sized dog with an outgoing and biddable temperament. Typically, our males are 23-23 1/2 inches at the shoulder and weigh between 80-90 pounds at maturity (2-3 years of age). Our bitches are usually between 21 1/2 and 22 inches at the shoulder and usually weigh between 68-73 pounds at maturity. It is important to note that these are ideal weights. Labradors, with their love of anything edible will try to talk you into letting them get heavier. Be strong!! Don't fall for their melting eyes and pleading expressions. Obesity in this breed is far to common, and it can pre-dispose your dog to orthopedic problems.

If you are interested in obtaining a Labrador it is important that you realize that you are embarking upon a lifetime commitment. Labradors are wonderful dogs, but they are not for everybody. Know ahead of time that any reputable breeder will want to know a lot about your family life and your ability to take care of a dog. Good breeders will tell you the downside of every breed as well as their good points. It is our responsibility to our dogs, to make sure that they have a safe and loving home for the rest of their lives. We also want to make sure that potential clients aren't biting off more than they can chew with a Labrador puppy.
