CH. LOBUFF'S BARE NECESSITIES J.H., C.D.

He still has the bare necessities ... and so much more! Beginning with points from the Puppy class at his first show and Best In Sweepstakes at the LRC, Inc. in 1991, Baloo's record included 25 Group wins, Specialty Best of Breeds at Potomac and Mid-Jersey and two Westminster Best of Breeds. When his show career was cut short by a tragic accident, he came home to Long Island.

Although two invasive surgeries were necessary, Baloo bounced back to physical soundness and has been able to function normally, thanks in part to his HUGE heart and great drive. Lisa handled him to Best of Breed at Huron River and Jersey Skylands after his rehabilitation.

Last year, we decided to give him a chance to earn his Junior Hunter title, so he spent the summer in Maine with Ann and Bill Clark and Bernadette Brown. After only a few weeks of training, Baloo qualified in 4 straight tests for his title. Then, on to the obedience ring, where he earned his CD in 3 straight trials the following month!

Perhaps our greatest pleasure has been seeing how well he is producing. He has finished get and many beautiful youngsters now in the ring. The icing on the cake are the 30+ working guide dogs (to date) that Baloo has sired for the Guide Dog Foundation for the Blind in Smithtown, New York, where he was bred. He has brains, beauty, birdiness and a kind, biddable disposition.

To us, he is "the dog of a lifetime" ... a champion in every sense of the word!
